An inexpensive online MBA program is not easy to find. The convenience of sitting in class where you want will cost you. The extra cost is not an issue with some people. Other people just can't afford it.
If you are certain you want or even need the convenience of an online MBA but have a limited budget, the good news is that there are inexpensive MBA online programs. Well, inexpensive or cheap is probably not the best word... you probably don't want to say your education is "cheap." "Affordable" is a lot better.
Affordable programs include the following.
Baker College an accredited non-profit school based in Kansas. My sister in law got her teaching degree at Baker, but in person, not online. The have a few online MBA programs. The cost is about 400 dollars per credit hour.
Upper Iowa University is a non-profit private school located in Fayette Iowa. They have been very progressive with online offerings and working with the military. Many of their graduates are satisfied. No matter where you live, you'll pay less than $16,000.
I'm intrigued by some of the things that Western Governors University is doing. You're charged based on the time it takes you to complete the degree. It's less than $10,000 for the 18 months program and taking your time at two years will cost you 13 grand. This is a great program for someone who wants to combine less expensive and quick.
A handful of AASCB and ACBSP accredited MBA courses are available online as well at an affordable price. These programs are great if you are looking for a program that has been measured by certain standards. Most schools are accredited though, but their business courses are not. That doesn't mean you're getting a substandard program. Many schools don't want to get their online MBA programs accredited because it severely limits what they can offer.
The following are online MBA programs that cost less than $20,000.
- Wayne State College
- American Public University
- California State University, Dominguez Hills (AACSB Accredited)
- Salve Regina University
- Wilmington University
- Bellevue University
- Ashford University
- Clarion University of Pennsylvania
- Plymouth State University (ACBSP Accredited)
- Saint Joseph's University
- University System of Georgia (AACSB Accredited)
As you can see, there are a variety of inexpensive online MBA programs. You'll be sure to find one that fits your price range and your needs.
